PSWA Dinner

Dear Sports Fan - Mark this date: January 26, 2009. That is the date for the Philadelphia Sports Writers Association’s annual Awards Dinner, our 105th banquet!

What a time it has been the last few weeks, with the Phillies rolling through the playoffs to a World Series championship, the Eagles showing signs of being the best team in the NFL’s strongest division, and the Flyers and 76ers getting their seasons underway.

With that kind of momentum, the Philadelphia Sports Writers Association is projecting this to be one of our top dinners in recent memory.

Jeff Asch, the new PSWA president, has taken leadership of the organization at this exciting time, and his energy and enthusiasm guarantees the dinner on January 26 will be another memorable event for everyone - as long as he doesn’t tell too many jokes!.

In the coming days, the PSWA will begin announcing award-winners shortly, with press releases and postings on the Internet.

A committee is working on a new format for our Web site (www.PSWA.org) to better serve the membership and Delaware Valley sports fans.

And visitors are invited to my new site dedicated specifically to the dinner (www.PSWAdinner.com). I will be posting press releases and other information on the site, as available. And you will be able to purchase tickets directly through the site.

PSWA membership has decided to keep the ticket prices at $75, our small contribution to the Economic Recovery, and tickets are on sale now.
