Dear Sports Fan - It’s hard to believe, but we’re already half way through December and before you know it, January will be here.
As you know, the 105th edition of the Philadelphia Sports Writers Association’s annual Awards Dinner will be held on Monday, January 26.
Once again, the dinner will be held at the Crowne Plaza on Route 70 in Cherry Hill. The doors will open at 5 p.m., and dinner starts at 6:30 p.m.
Tickets are moving fast, due to the outstanding guest line-up and the continuing excitement about the Phillies winning the World Series.
You don’t want to miss this year’s dinner: The “World Phillies Champions” will be honored as Team of the Year (the vote was not close!), and popular manager Charlie Manuel will be with us.
PSWA president Jeff Asch and a committee is working with the Phillies to get some players to the dinner, too - We think you’ll be pleased when we make an announcement soon.
This event is always a highlight on the sports calendar, and this year promises to be one of our best. Tickets are still $75 ($900 for a table of 12), and remain a great value in sports entertainment. Other similar dinners cost as much as $200 per ticket, but the PSWA is proud to make seats available to as many sports fans as possible.
We have released several other award-winners, and more will be forthcoming:
Adam Taliaferro, Penn State - Humanitarian
Bernie Parent, Flyers - Living Legend
Mike Washington, West Chester University - Outstanding Amateur
(visit PSWA.org for more information about these honorees)
Also, Steve Sabol, the man behind the legend of NFL Films, and Carli Lloyd, who scored the game-winning overtime goal to give the US Women’s soccer team the Olympic Gold Medal, will be honored.
Visit our web site, www.pswa.org, to keep up with the latest announcements and confirmations. The site will be updated as soon as we have more news to share! Visit it regularly to “stay in the loop.”

Thanks for asking, and thanks for ordering the tickets (your purchase has been confirmed and you are in our database).
This response should be helpful for other ticket-buyers, too.
The tickets are on order from the printer and will be issued by mail. We will send tickets at various times, beginning the second or third week of December.
If a ticket purchase is intended for a holiday gift, we can make arrangements to accomodate you.
Thanks again for your interest in our 106th annual dinner, and for placing your order.
