Standout stars from Philadelphia’s professional, collegiate and amateur sports teams, including members of the Philadelphia Phillies, the Philadelphia Flyers, and many more, will be honored and in attendance on the evening of Monday, January 30, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Cherry Hill, NJ.

Tickets to the historic annual banquet are $95 per person, and available online at www.pswa.org. Doors open at 5 p.m., with the banquet beginning promptly at 6:30 p.m.

The Philadelphia Sports Writers Association dinner is the oldest continuing sports awards banquets in the nation, and annually attracts a Philadelphia sports “who’s who” list of guests, attendees, and award winners from the area’s professional sports teams, collegiate programs, as well as numerous sports writers, radio and television media personalities of note.

Each year, the Philadelphia Sports Writers Association Awards Dinner presents a number of prestigious awards, eagerly anticipated by both the athletes and the fans. As in the past, the awards include the vaunted Team of the Year, Humanitarian of the Year, Native Son, Good Guy, Outstanding Amateur Athlete, Living Legend, Outstanding Professional Athlete, and the Most Courageous Athlete Award. Numerous “Special Achievement” awards will also be presented, as well as special presentations celebrating the 50th anniversary of Wilt Chamberlain’s 100-point game and a remembrance of the late heavyweight boxing champion Joe Frazier.

Leading Philadelphia athletes and coaches from both the professional and the collegiate ranks will be honored during the course of the annual Philadelphia Sports Writers Association dinner, including student-athletes and coaches from Villanova University, Temple University, Drexel University, University of Pennsylvania, Saint Joseph’s University and LaSalle University.

Comedian Joe Conklin will also perform at this year’s banquet which will be preceded by a silent auction of Philadelphia sports memorabilia.
