Wilt Chamberlain’s 100-point game: 1962
Only a few more than 4,100 basketball fans were on hand at the Hersheypark Arena in Hershey, Pa. on March 2, 1962.
But what a memorable night it was!
Wilt Chamberlain, of the Philadelphia Warriors, established a new standard in individual sports achievement when he scored 100 points to lead his team to a 169-147 victory over the New York Knicks.
There is no video of the game, but there is a dramatic audio play-by-play of the fete, by the Philadelphia Sports Writers Association’s own legend, Bill Campbell.
